A refugee man who is severely malnourished crawls upon a scorched inhospitable earth. His eyes are raised to the heavens pleading for rescue, a small flower in the foreground symbolises a last chance of hope which he does not see.

In contrast to the refugee paintings a young caucasian boy blows the seeds off a dandelion making a wish.
It may seem like a frivolous thing in comparison to the strife faced by the refugees but in truth this boy is my son and he has Cystic Fibrosis which is a terminal illness that affects his lungs and makes it hard to breathe (or blow the seeds off a dandelion for that matter).
I included this as a contrast piece but also to say that we could all use a little hope.
